Google surprised many of us with the news that they would be shutting down Google Reader as of July 1, 2013. This was not welcome news because many folks, including me, consume most of their blog content with an RSS aggregator. Google Reader is simple and easy-use.
I relied heavily on Google Reader to search out the blogosphere for useful content to share across my social networks and with my community.
So what now?
Have you discovered Feedly?
If you have already taken the time to set up your feeds in Google Reader than you will love Feedly, because it syncs up with Google Reader. With Feedly you can easily organize content from your favorite blogs, news sites, podcasts and Youtube channels and access them all in one place across all your devices.
A recent CNN article shares that In an age of Facebook posts and retweets, Google Senior Vice President Urs Holzle said in a post on the official Google blog that Reader was losing popularity.
While the product has a loyal following, over the years usage has declined
