Because He Loves Us That Much!

What is Easter to you? What are you doing for Easter?

Could you imagine Jesus wandering onto the scene of an Easter egg hunt or seeing excitement around Easter baskets? Easter is not about coloring eggs, kids hunting for them, Easter baskets or even enjoying a big meal with friends and family. It can include these things, but Easter is about the death and resurrection of Jesus!

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” –John 11:25

For many of us Easter has become just another day, drowning out the most incredible act of love in History. A day when Heaven collided with Earth. A day where God Himself could not have said, “I love you” a better way.

Check out these lyrics from the song from ‘You Love Me Anyways’ by Sidewalk Prophets

I am the thorn in Your crown

But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas? kiss
But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then, I turned away with this smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

But You love me anyway
Oh, God? how you love me

You see, in matters of love you can’t send someone else – you have to go yourself! This is the true gospel – that God is relentlessly pursuing you with his love. This is why God stepped into human history as a man. This is why Jesus, God Himself, walked among us because in matters of love you have to go yourself! Jesus came to us,engaged us and pursued us. He bled for all mankind sacrificing Himself to set us free, to set the record straight and to pave the way for relationship with God Himself – because He loves us that much!

I wish you and your family a wonderful Easter!

Cool Scripture

If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? -Jeremiah 12:5 (NKJV)
