Here is a poem I wrote about my kids during my divorce…
I see it every day and I say it’s only living
Like life is only pain, believe me; my heart was given.
Anguish, heartbreak and a hurt I can’t erase
A light, a warmth I wish will shine upon your face.
Balancing kids, personal and professional in the jet stream of life is no easy task. I don’t know about you but I definitely needed to get more organized!
How did I accomplish this? with Evernote! It’s still a work in process, but I am so much more organized now.
Recently watched Wrath Of The Titans with my son and the ending scene really stuck a chord with me. In this scene Perseus passes the mantle to his son Helius by speaking words of life and symbolically by handing over his sword.
Yeah, this is a fictional movie but this scene gets at the core of what’s missing today.
Consider this glimpse in the story of Jesus. Before His ministry begins, before He has His wilderness experience Jesus hears these words from God, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17) Ever pause and think about the significance of this?
This is huge!
The strength of a ship is only fully demonstrated when it faces a hurricane, and the power of the gospel can only be fully exhibited when a Christian is subjected to some fiery trial. We must understand that for God to give “songs in the night,” He must first make it night.
In the Gospel of John, we read that Jesus comes across a paralytic man who has been in this place of affliction for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, He asks this man the most important question of his life, “Do you want to get well?” The paralytic replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” The biblical account of the Pool of Bethesda tells us that an angel would go down at a certain time into the pool and stir up the water and whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease they had.
