Why “Ready, Fire, Aim” is a losing proposition!

Why “Ready, Fire, Aim” is a losing proposition!

My alarm clock this morning was a gentle breeze accompanied by the nature’s music of the birds singing right outside my window. It was just one of those mornings where you say, “Yeah, life is good!” The weather is beautiful, I had the day planned out and today was my son’s first rounds of SAT’s.

We jumped in the car and headed over to Dunkin’ Donuts to fuel up on a couple iced teas and breakfast sandwiches before heading over to the school. We arrived a few minutes early so my son could get settled. I waited a bit just to make sure and off I went to get an oil change.

What I Learned From Jumping Out Of A Plane

What I Learned From Jumping Out Of A Plane

The trees were proudly parading their vivid colors that warm and inviting autumn day in October of 2003 as I headed out to Orange, Massachusetts, to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Upon my arrival to the jump school, an employee with a detached personality and a large Mohawk haircut handed me a phonebook-size bundle of paperwork so I could begin the long process of signing my life away; so I wouldn’t hold the jump school responsible if I ended up a human pancake.

If that wasn’t enough, the whole family decided to show up to see if I would really follow through with this incredibly crazy stunt, which meant there was no way I could chicken out. You know, we men have our pride.

7 Ways I’ve Learned To Manage Fear

7 Ways I’ve Learned To Manage Fear

I was working through my daily reading list when this headline, “STATS: Americans ‘snapping’ by the millions…” caught my eye on drudgereport.com. My first thought was this might be something related to the recent bombings at the Boston Marathon. As I continued to read it was clear that the commentary had a political angle, but putting that aside, I could not stop thinking about the deeper issues outlined in the article.

“Of course, at the nuclear core of the myriad assaults on traditional America is the rejection of God and repudiation of the Judeo-Christian values that underpin Western civilization. This in turn has led to pervasive societal disintegration and a Pandora’s Box of almost unimaginable problems.”i

Why Do Bad Things Happen And Why Does God Allow It?

Why Do Bad Things Happen And Why Does God Allow It?

Once again this nation has come under attack. But for me and many others it’s right on our back doorstep, this time it happened in Boston. The Boston Marathon is a special day for celebrating everything that is good about Boston, its a day where the city opens up its arms and welcomes runners from around the world. It’s a day where they are part of our community for a day.

Sadly what started out to be a beautiful day with excitement and anticipation of who would win the marathon, tragedy struck.
