One of the foundational topics that’s shared on Heartstone Journey is fatherhood and being a dad. I was recently challenged by a friend on social media to take the “Do Dad’s Matter” challenge started by MochaDad. If there can be a viral outpouring for ALS, why not support of dads?

So, do dads Matter?

They sure do!

As dads, our actions and our words have an incredible impact on our kids! As dads, we can have a significant impact on children by giving them the love, encouragement, and support they need to fulfill their potential. I’ve learned that the words every son needs to hear from their dad is, “I am proud to have you as my son! You have what it takes!” I’ve learned that the words every daughter needs to hear from their dad is, “You are an amazing gift from above, I love you and I will fight for your heart!”

Take the #DadsDoMatter challenge today! Here’s how to get started:

1) Post a photo of yourself holding a sign that reads #DadsDoMatter on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest or your own website. Be sure to tag the post with the hashtag #DadsDoMatter.

2) Challenge three (3) dads to post a #DadsDoMatter photo.

3) Support other dads by sharing their photos via social media.
