You are here :Home Life Once Upon a Time…

Once Upon a Time…

Once Upon a Time…

Just step in to narrative of others and you will quickly discover that people have this sense that life is random! The problem with this perspective it leads many of us to grab what ever we can in life, leaving us empty over time. Ever consider that life is a story? Or how about this..if life is a story then it must have an author.

We see this theme played out in movies. Ever see Inkheart? or Inception?

Consider for a moment that life is a story and the author is God Himself. Think about that!

There is this tension of two writers! Self and God. I am not suggesting that life is not void of things we cannot foresee or that there are things that are out of control….but wait…God is in control. If we can find the courage to put down the pen and stop writing our own story and step into the story that God has already written then these things that seemingly come out of no where no moves us to a different perspective.

Don’t be mistaken; in and of ourselves we know we have little to offer, but any competence or value we have comes from God. -2 Corinthians 3:5 (The Voice)

In Heartstone I share commentary about how eye opening it was to see this perspective. I had been writing my own script for much of my life, never willing to let God write me into His story.

Living life for you’re own glory is not a big enough prize.

 -Andy Stanley (NIV)

The truth of God’s word is that He has already written the story of your life. It is time for you to read that story and find your road home. God’s truth is that He has a plan for you that is good and not for evil. A plan where you win in the end. Let Heartstone be the beginning of your journey home. This time the happy ending will be your own.

He wants you to have a beautiful ending!

Are you ready to put down your pen?
