Wanted to share a story with you. Walk with me…

Image that a loving God created you and placed you in His sandbox, a beautiful pristine beach with a shoreline that only has boundaries in your own mind. We are given the tools we need to live out life, and like most of us we quickly go right to work building our sandcastles.

For me some of those sandcastles became a big house, a position of vice president in a large organization, money and the list goes on. I was convinced that my sandcastles would bring me the peace, security and acceptance I was looking for.

Back to the sandbox…

Here is a reality I learned along this journey called life. He places us in this sandbox, but we become so focused on our building that we miss out on the what He buried in the sand for us to discover. Its not the money, the fame, the stuff….its simply Him. He is the gift and the treasure that’s was buried waiting for us to discover!

I’m not saying that some of these things in and of themselves are bad, but when they become our singular focus we become blinded and we begin to live for them. Life is playing out, we continue to fill our days building more sandcastles along our shoreline and we don’t see the tide coming in or the waves from a storm coming our way. Then one day, it happens…our sandcastles get wiped out.

I have had many of my sandcastles wiped out by the tides and the storms of life. The good news is that my story isn’t over and through the storms of life, I found something wonderful. I found HIM!
