I recently listened to a series by Andy Stanley called “Breathing Room” and wow could I relate. Not having breathing room in my life almost cost me everything.

Breathing room is the space between our current pace and our limits.

 -Andy Stanley

I was addicted to a high paced lifestyle. I always looked for my value, my self-worth, and my identity with position and success — selling my soul to my work.

Can’t Change Your Thinking? 2 Ways We Can Learn How From RoboCop

Recently saw the new reboot of RoboCop with my son. Underneath the very cool special effects I noticed that there was a powerful theme emerging. This theme was was also in the original RoboCop.

How To Become A Navy Seal Without Joining The Military

How To Become A Navy Seal Without Joining The Military

As a dad, I was almost taken out by the enemy. I almost blew it, but my Commander in Chief, God Himself, God gave me another chance.

Men, I don’t know what you are facing as a husband, as a father, but we are being taken out left and right. There is a war on the family unit and significant ground is being lost. This will not be won politically, by the government, by the courts, by the media or by sitting around waiting for the next guy to do something. This war will be one by us manning up and stepping into the role of fatherhood that God has called us into.

Here is a re-work of the Navy Seal Ethos for all you husbands and fathers out there fighting the good fight for your families, may you be encouraged!

In times of trouble or uncertainty there is a special breed of warrior ready to answer our family’s call. A common man with uncommon desire to succeed. Forged by adversity, he stands alongside a brotherhood to serve his God, his family, and protect their way of life. I am that man.

Merry Christmas 2013!

Let’s pause and step back into the very first Christmas Eve.

Mary and Joseph were homeless, a day away from giving birth and far away from their family. It was in this moment that they had to choose to trust the God and to this day we all know the result of their choosing to trust Him.

I’ve learned through my own life journeys that if you want God’s best then you have to walk it out with Him, on His terms, from start to finish. This journey is not an easy one, but the longer you stay on the journey with Him the greater your reward will be.

The true meaning of Christmas is becoming more blurred with each passing year.
