How I Organized My Life For Maximum Efficiency

How I Organized My Life For Maximum Efficiency

Balancing kids, personal and professional in the jet stream of life is no easy task. I don’t know about you but I definitely needed to get more organized!

How did I accomplish this? with Evernote! It’s still a work in process, but I am so much more organized now.

Warning: Dad’s Failing To Pass The Mantle

Warning: Dad’s Failing To Pass The Mantle

Recently watched Wrath Of The Titans with my son and the ending scene really stuck a chord with me. In this scene Perseus passes the mantle to his son Helius by speaking words of life and symbolically by handing over his sword.

Yeah, this is a fictional movie but this scene gets at the core of what’s missing today.

Consider this glimpse in the story of Jesus. Before His ministry begins, before He has His wilderness experience Jesus hears these words from God, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17) Ever pause and think about the significance of this?

This is huge!

Men Wanted For Hazardous Journey

Men Wanted For Hazardous Journey

Ernest Shackleton’s Trans-Antarctica expedition of 1914 – 1917 is one of the most incredible adventure stories of all time. The goal of this expedition was was to cross the Antarctic continent from one coast to the other via the South Pole. In summary, the men on this adventure actually never set foot on continental Antarctica. On their journey they managed to survive the loss of their ship in the Antarctic pack ice during a season when there was no chance of contacting the outside world or of being rescued.

Men wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages. Bitter Cold. Long months of complete darkness. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honor and recognition in case of success.

What The Heck?

What The Heck?

I soon began to run the spectrum from patience to aggravation as I became more and more tormented by a leak in the roof of my apartment, which seemed to never stop. This was no ordinary leak; it was witty, because every time we thought we had stopped it, it would show itself again with a vengeance. After grumbling to the landlord, the kids, my friends, and anyone else who would listen, frustration won the battle in my mind, and I began to allow the tentacles of self-pity to slowly wrap around me. In my impulse to fix this myself, I sank further into the pit of self-pity, and glimpses of hope began to slowly fade.

How could a leak consume and cripple me?

Post Election Thoughts

Post Election Thoughts

I am fairly certain that emotions are running high on both sides this morning, the day after the United States chose its next President. Here is the big question…can you pray for our leaders, regardless of your opinion of them?

1 Timothy 2 tells us to offer prayers and thanks for, not against, all those in authority — and it doesn’t have the condition, “as long as their agenda matches God’s.” …that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth! (v. 1b-4)
