See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. -Hebrews 12:15
We are commanded to get rid of all bitterness in our lives and to forgive others.
Live courageously from your heart!

Here is Angela’s story.
Lupus SLE is an autoimmune disease that basically attacks its own body tissue. It is like having an overactive immune system. Immunosuppressive drugs are usually what stops lupus from progressing. Lupus can also attack major body organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver, joints, and just about anywhere in the body. I was not aware of this debilitating disease until I was diagnosed with it in 2004. Most people with lupus are often misdiagnosed because lupus can mask itself, causing it to appear like many other illnesses. As my battle with lupus progressed, it was clearly evident that my life would never be the same.
I am looking forward to spending time with those I love through this Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because you spend time with family without the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Truth be told, I really love all the amazing food and fixings too!
As I reflect I don’t want to forget those who will not be gathered around a table with loved ones with an abundance of food and a warm fire. Super storm Sandy still has people without power, weeks after the storm and for some no end to the turmoil. War is escalating in the Middle East as rockets strike fear into those near the impact zone. We just finished up an election which in the end divided this country. The stock market has become the new roller coaster ride and people I have opportunity to talk to are worried! The list is long and scary for some, but I want to pause here and remind folks of what the Bible offers.
This is one of a handful of poems that you will find in Heartstone. Hope you enjoy.
Today the illusions of this world around me fade away.
I do not want to be afraid…
When our eyes meet, I know I am safe.
Have I been orphaned, fallen within this blind dismay?
Through the silence of night His glory invades, scatters my gray.
This child runs to You!
I am fairly certain that emotions are running high on both sides this morning, the day after the United States chose its next President. Here is the big question…can you pray for our leaders, regardless of your opinion of them?
1 Timothy 2 tells us to offer prayers and thanks for, not against, all those in authority — and it doesn’t have the condition, “as long as their agenda matches God’s.” …that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth! (v. 1b-4)
